Golden Legend
Myth & treasure
Lantern-lit dragons and gilded reels — the look of the pokies, minus the price of a single spin.
21+ only • Germany & Canada (excl. Quebec & Ontario) • Australia: pre-registration only • No real money • No prizes
Velvet Ember brings the glow of the pokies to your phone — on virtual credits only, so not a cent ever changes hands. Before Australians can spin, we're putting a proper age check in place, just as local rules require. Pre-register with your email now and you'll be first through the door when we open.
Adults onlyStricter than the R 18+ rating simulated gambling carries in Australia.
States & territoriesPerth to Hobart, Darwin to Canberra — everyone's welcome.
ForeverNothing to buy, wager or win. Ever.
Since 22 September 2024, games featuring simulated gambling have been rated R 18+ under Australia's National Classification Scheme. And since March 2026, eSafety's online safety codes have required services that offer simulated gambling to use genuine age assurance before letting anyone in — a tick-box declaration isn't enough.
Velvet Ember's games are pure entertainment with no stakes and no prizes, but they do look and feel like the pokies. So rather than open with a checkbox, we're adding a real age check first. Until it's live, Australian residents may not play under our Terms, and games are locked for Australian profiles and for devices set to an Australian time zone. Pre-registering simply reserves your spot and, if you tick the box, lets us email you on opening day.
Straight talk: we don't operate a gambling service. Credits are virtual, refill on their own and have no cash value. Nothing can be bought, staked, won, cashed out or transferred.
Four free games, ready to unlock the day our age check goes live.

Fiesta vibes
Papel picado, confetti and marimba beats: a street party that fits on the train home.
Most people play Velvet Ember in short, easy bursts — a tram ride across Melbourne, smoko on a Brisbane building site, a slow Sunday arvo in Hobart. So the site is built to stay light on mobile data and quick on patchy regional coverage, with no app to download and no card on file. Whether you're on AWST, ACST or AEST, the games will be ready whenever you are.

As soon as our age-verification check is live. We don't have a date to share yet — if you tick the email box when you pre-register, you'll hear from us on opening day and not before.
Because Australian rules don't allow it. Under eSafety's online safety codes, services offering simulated gambling must use genuine age assurance before giving access, and self-declaration doesn't count. We'd rather do it properly than open the doors with a checkbox.
No. Nothing can be bought, staked or won, and credits have no cash value, so there's no gambling service here. But because the games look and play like the pokies, they count as simulated gambling under Australia's classification rules — which is exactly why they're adults-only.
Not now and not after launch. There's no shop, no coin packs and no card details asked for — ever. A$0, full stop.
All of them: New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, the ACT and the Northern Territory.
We're still choosing a provider. We'll pick one that keeps only what it needs to confirm your age, and we'll update our Australian Privacy Policy before it goes live, so you'll know exactly what's collected and for how long.
