Welcome to Velvet Ember. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and Velvet Ember covering your use of this website and its games. By visiting or playing, you accept them; if anything here doesn't sit right with you, the only remedy we can offer is not to use the site.

1. What Velvet Ember is

Velvet Ember is a free-to-play social gaming website. It provides casino-style games strictly for entertainment. It is not a gambling service: no deposits, no wagers, no withdrawals, no winnings, no prizes. Nothing on this site constitutes an offer or invitation to gamble.

2. Eligibility — 21 and over

You must be at least 21 years of age to use Velvet Ember, and using it must be lawful where you are. By accessing the site — and again, explicitly, when creating a player profile — you confirm you meet this requirement. We may restrict access where we reasonably believe it isn't met.

3. Virtual credits

Games run on virtual credits supplied automatically and at no cost. Virtual credits, along with any scores, streaks or in-game progress: (a) have no monetary value; (b) cannot be purchased, sold, transferred, exchanged or redeemed for money, goods, services or prizes; (c) may be reset, adjusted or discontinued at any time; and (d) remain our property (or that of the relevant game studio) at all times. They exist to make play fun — nothing more.

4. Player profiles

Profiles are optional and free. The profile feature stores its data locally in your browser; you are responsible for the device and browser you use. You agree to provide truthful information, including your age confirmation, and not to impersonate anyone else.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site — including attempting to breach its security, scraping or bulk-copying its content, interfering with its operation, using it for any commercial purpose, or presenting it anywhere as a real-money gambling service. We may suspend access to protect the site and its visitors.

6. Intellectual property

The Velvet Ember name, flame emblem, site design, text and code are protected by intellectual-property laws and belong to us. Game titles, artwork and software within embedded game windows belong to their respective studios. You may enjoy all of it on the site; you may not copy, republish or exploit it without permission.

7. Third-party games and links

Games are provided by third-party studios and stream from their servers in practice/demo mode. We curate but do not control them, and we are not responsible for their availability, content or data practices. The same goes for external links, such as support organisations on our Responsible Play page.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the embers glowing around the clock, but the site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may add, change or remove games and features, or suspend the site for maintenance, at any time without notice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Velvet Ember and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of — or inability to use — the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent the law allows. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Responsible play

Play is meant to stay light. Our Responsible Play page describes the habits, warning signs and free support resources we stand behind, and forms part of how we operate this site.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, always lives on this page; continued use after an update means acceptance of the revised Terms.
